Can I get a witness?
Because I have a new employer I also have a new insurance provider. For legal reasons I cannot name them. Blogs are targets now. I've taken Provigil to combat my fatigue in the past. True it has come with some side effects but none outweighing the deleterious effects of sleepiness and malaise. My work and life is extremely demanding - I have no spouse or family member to rely on for financial or emotional support - so I need a medication to enable me to stay awake and function like a normal adult. My new medical insurance provider has determined that I do not qualify for my medication. My doctor will now have to submit a letter on my behalf arguing why I should have this drug coverage. If I were to pay for this drug out of my own pocket it would cost me about $600 a month.
If my own neurologist who knows my case more intimately than the insurance people thinks that I would benefit from this drug, doesn't it seem strange that they would deny me coverage? The dollar they save is now the dollar my employer loses when I will now have to call in sick from fatigue. How stupid is that???
I would like all you healthy people to get down on one knee and thank God or Allah or Vishnu or any diety you subscribe to and say "Thanks for not giving me a chronic incurable disease! Thanks for not making me deal with the retarded fucking beurocracy of medical insurance! Damn I'm so grateful to be healthly!" OK, you can stand up now.
