Rage against the machine and then do a little dance
The sleep study results are in. The doctors have determined that I've got idiopathic hypersomnia. I told the doctor that it sounded more like a description than a diagnosis. I said to her, "Hypersomnia? Doesn't that just mean really really sleepy? I could have told ya that!" But she said, "Yes I know but now it's documented." Good point I suppose. What this means for me is that insurance companies cannot deny access to the good stuff, namely Provigil. It's the gold standard for drugs that help you stay awake and it's not cheap either.
So after going through months of paperwork and many, many hours of PTO spent at doctor visits, jumping through hoop after fucking hoop I've finally gotten my Provigil prescription back. I'm doing my little happy drug dance now - yay!
